Route 153 runs north-south near the Maine state line. South of South Effingham,
153 crosses into Maine for about a mile to avoid Lake Providence. There is
a lone Maine style 153 route sign along this stretch, which is incorrect since
the real Maine 153 is elsewhere.
South of this portion, Maine's Route 110 runs west where it ends at the state line. An unsigned road continues a short distance to Route 153. However, eastbound, there is a NH 110 sign on this portion, which is incorrect since the real 110 is much further north.
